Meng-Shan Liberation--Because this was such a grand event, we should allow the sentient beings of all realms to rejoice that the UCI campus has now become blessed ground due to the presence of the holy relics of the Buddhas and his grand disciples. This Liberation service is a method to dedicate merits to the sentient beings that are deceased by performing rituals such as Purification, Invocations, Invitations, and Praises. This service is called Meng Shan because it was put together by a Vajra Acali in the Meng Shan Region of China many years ago and has been transmitted down ever since. Those attending this liberation will greatly benefit by accumulating merit.
